Raku is the most exciting hands-on approach to making and firing pots.
Join us for 2 days in a beautiful setting in Lindley Huddersfield for a 2 day workshop led by experienced makers with great teaching skills.
Briar Court is a stunning Arts and Crafts house, sitting in 3 acres of magical gardens, and in the process of being lovingly restored by its new owners.
You'll have the opportunity to
get involved in constructing a simple Raku Kiln
Make your own pots
Glaze your own or buy pots ready to glaze
Get involved in firing your pots, using techniques which involve fire, smoke, feathers, horsehair, water Ferric Chloride and other dramatic processes.
When will the course be held?
16th and 17th July 2016. Saturday 10.30 - 4pm Sunday 10.30 - 4pm COST: £120 for the two days. EARLY BIRD BOOKING just £110 for the two days!
What do I need to bring?
Old clothes and bags of creativity!
If you have pots you've previously made, we may be able to fire them over the weekend, by prior agreement
Refreshments will be provided, but you will need to bring your own lunch!
